Photographer Mike Hollingshead is a storm chaser.. pretty exciting don't you think? I think the words "storm chaser" sounds exhilarating doesn't it? I think it's the danger factor. I don't know if I could actually jump into my car and just go straight into the danger zone but I do love these photos. He clocks over 20,000 miles a year and travels all over America's heart lands. The skies are pretty incredible- I never knew clouds could do that. His work has been featured in movies and tv- and my personal favorite was on the finale for Dexter.

Great work! Wonderful atmospheric effects!
You are finding some of the best stuff lately! I love storm clouds (and I love those storm chasing shows on TWC!). With so much flat land here, if I can get out of the burbs I can see some beautiful cloud formations. I'm hard pressed to pick a favorite here, but that last one with the contrast of the yellow field against the gray? Stunning.
wow! I thought you were taking these at first and I was like GURL! you crazy! but really, wonderful pictures!!!
i would definitely not be a storm chaser but i am glad he is and i wish there was another way to get such amazing photos! i didn't know he worked on the last dexter (i am assuming the boat part?) i am going to have to re-watch it now!

Beautiful but absolutely terrifying.
Ooooo I could never do it (especially now that I'm a mom) but I LOVE seeing pictures of it. I think I've been sorta obsessed with the profession in general since Twister.
those are ca-razy pictures, but pretty epic!
My friend and I have talked about how amazing it would be to take a picture of a storm, but have never been successful at it; I shared this post with her. The photos are beautiful.
Since I watched Twister, I got a little obsessed with storms and such things. It's beautiful.
How I wish I could chase storms like him. But I have tattoos, and that's bad enough for my mom. I don't wanna kill her before her due time. =D
Wonderful pictures ! they are amazing!!
I love your new "title"
What amazing skies! I'd be afraid to be a storm chaser, but I like looking at the dramatic photographs.
These photos are gorgeous! When I was younger I really wanted to be a storm chaser. I've always been fascinated by storms.
Whoa! those are some unbelievable photos. I love violent weather patterns. Actually just observing them, not having my house whirled up by a tornado. Those clouds, oh my! I love how the houses or cars in the photos are so tiny, definitely giving the idea that man is tiny compared to the unleashed nature.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Have an awesome day!
I love this guy's work!!! Hey Miss Erika, thank you so much for stopping by Julia's Bookbag, I really appreciate it! Always so happy to make new bloggy pals and discover their work. Much aloha!! ~Melissa
Nope, nope nope. Maybe it's because my only exposure to these types of storms was in the Wizard of Oz (which is understandably terrifying for a kid from the east coast where they don't have twisters!) but my impulse is to hide in the nearest basement, not run right to them with a camera! Brave guy!
Oh my gosh these are incredible. Seriously absolutely amazing photos of Mother Nature in action.
Oh wow! These are so intense. I love stormy skies. That's cool that his work was featured in the Dexter finale, now I want to re-watch.
