I can not believe it's already Friday but I am so looking forward to this weekend. I have a lady thrifting date planned and hopefully I will find some vintage treasures. We are going estate sale-ing and I have to work on the map- so that we can maximize our thrifting experience. lol doesn't it make me sound hard core, but I learned with a little research and planning - I can hit the best estate sales. I have gotten into the habit of setting up a thrift date once a month for the last couple of months and I look forward to it. Not only do I get to hang out with my gal pals but I love finding things to inspire my art work. We all meet up at my house and we go early at least early for the weekend and then we get a fluffy coffee and then we head out to hunt and gather. :)
I have been in the studio a lot of this week and working late but I have to say isn't this little camera adorable? I particularly loving the mint and the flash. I finished painting this last night around 3 am and I always think first thing in the morning. did everything turn out ok? was my brain thinking clearly? and I rush into my studio to check to see if it looks like what I remembered. Well I think this one us my favorite so far for the show- it's a vintage Savoy Camera with flash.
Doing anything for the weekend?

Your work for the Big 400 has been nothing short of stellar Erika, amazing!
This has to be my favorite piece of yours that I've seen so far! I am in love with the vintage camera and the pop of mint! This is wonderful <3

That vintage camera is amazing and so so pretty! I wish I could see it in person!
This is one of my favorite that you'd done. Really lovely. And I love the story about rushing to the studio. My first photography teacher told us to wait to upload our photos...that taking our time before we look, critique and edit makes a difference, and that seems true for you too, yes? XO
thrift dates sound so fun. hope you found some vintage treasures! the painting of the camera is great! i have a love affair with cameras :)
Oh, the painting is lovely, Erika! I hope you had a wonderful weekend :)
I really love the colours you have used in this, the turquoisey/petrol shades I mean. I have been really into this colour since I saw some faded paint in this colour peeling off a park bench (which reminds me that I meant to blog about it)! Can I ask what paint colours you were using?
