I am so happy that it is summer time :) and one thing I do love is road trips! We took a day trip up to the mountain and visited Lost Lake. I were so excited to hop out of town and I even packed a little picnic. This summer we want to do lots of mini road trips!
It was about 75 degrees or so in Portland and we totally thought it would be sunshine up the mountain. I was surprised with the amount of snow that was still on the ground.
This lake is a non motor lake and you can rent dreamy paddle boats and can camp. Most of the hiking trails were closed due to snow but we did go around the lake and I am pretty positive I saw a bear foot print. Tim thought it was more likely a large dog, but they have bears in these woods!
What are you up to this weekend? I might drag Tim out of town to another lake and maybe try a warmer one.

Road trips are the best!!! I had planned a mini one this weekend, but it seems that Kevin has other plans. Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
That looks like a beautiful location Erika! I love road trips too ... and it looks like you have some great places not too far away.
I plan on rugging up against the winter cold here in Australia and do lots of reading (and coffee drinking of course).
:)
That looks beautiful!
This might sound weird, but living in the biggest city of a super small country I miss being able to look in the distance, the far far distance. Everywhere I look there's buildings, roads or if I'm lucky some trees, but I'd really love to have a view like that too every once in a while.
awe looks like a great road trip!
Sounds awesome! I love doing things like that and can't wait to be in a new part of the country to explore different places. So exciting! Have a great weekend!
Tomorrow is "Knit in Public" Day or something like that so I'll be outside working on Square 3. I love lakes and hope we get to see more of your beautiful pictures.
great pics!
What a great lake. You know I love lakes. Good pictures too!
I love the boats! Even if snow is still on the ground, that looks so peaceful.
